The county seat of Wayne County, Honesdale is in the heart of rich dairy country and popular camp & recreation areas of northeastern Pennysylvania. Of historic interest is the "Stourbridge Lion" steam locomotive pictured in center - the first commercial locomotive to be operated in the western hemisphere when it made a trial run at Honesdale on August 8, 1829. An exact replica of the locomotive is on display at the Wayne County Museum.
